Rick had to say...

30-something year old mind trapped in a 51 year old man's body.  LOL I have been an avid reader for over 35 years. I started out in my teens with science fiction mostly, but as I have aged, I have evolved and now read pretty much all genres.

Books & Music

I was sitting here reading the next book in the Deliverance Company series by Debbie Macomber when I heard a song on the laptop where I was playing music. It was a song by Kenny Rogers titled "I Can't Unlove You". Boy, talk about a song so full of truth. Like the books I read, I also have an eclectic taste in music, listening to a large range of music. This song was defintely one that spoke to my heart. As usual, I am sharing the lyrics here:

Artist: Kenny Rogers
Album: Water & Bridges
Title: I Can't Unlove You

Postcards and letters
And pictures made to last forever
To be boxed up and tossed away
Knickknacks and souvenirs
In an afternoon, they're out of here
They'll disappear without a trace
But what they mean to me
Can never be replaced

[Chorus:]
I can't unthink about you
I can't unfeel your touch
I can't unhear all the words
Unsay all the things
That used to mean so much
I wish I could unremember
Everything my heart's been through
And finding out it's impossible to do
Oh, it's no use
I can't unlove you

Intestates and old songs
Like time they go on and on
I guess I could learn to do the same
I could wake up without you
These two arms not around you
Tell myself it's meant to be this way
No matter how I try I can't change

[Chorus]

I wish I could unremember
Everything my heart's been through
And finding out it's impossible to do
Oh, oh, it's no use
I can't unlove you

I must be in a country music mode tonight. Here's another by the Bellamy Brothers.

Do You Love As Good As You Look By The Bellamy Brothers

Long blonde hair, sky blue eyes
Yeah that well-bred look is easy to recognize
A tailored dress, a fit so fine
And it adds up to the question on my mind

Chorus:
Honey, do you love as good as you look?
Can you satisfy your man, like your body says you can?
Judging from the cover, I'd love to read the book
Honey, do you love as good as you look?

If you could read my mind, you might blush blood-red
But then again you might come over here instead
I see they brought your check and soon you're bound to go
If I don't make my move right now, I may never know

Chorus:
Honey, do you love as good as you look?
Can you satisfy your man, like your body says you can?
Judging from the cover, I'd love to read the book
Honey, do you love as good as you look?

--- Instrumental ---

Judging from the cover, I'd love to read the book
Honey, do you love as good as you look?
Honey, do you love as good as you look?...
